About the event

The first-ever Rath Yatra in the Netherlands, organized by the Odia Socio Cultural Association, Netherlands (OSCAN), was a resounding success. Marked by unexpected enthusiasm, the event featured special worship, deity processions, and the pulling of a beautifully decorated chariot.

Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Gince Mattam, serving as the Chief Guest, inaugurated cultural programs, which included Bhajans, Odissi, and Bharatnatyam performances. The play “God of Devotee: Dasia Bauri” conveyed Lord Jagannath’s equal treatment for all, leaving the audience spellbound. Painting and traditional dress competitions added to the festivity.

The feast included delicious Odia foods like Ghee Anna, Dalma, Besara, Khata, Saga, Rasagola, Tanka Torani, and Chudaghasa. The Rath Yatra’s success was attributed to the guidance of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingh Deb and OSCAN’s organizational prowess, led by President Saswat Padhi and members Sushil Das Mahapatra, Anshuman Mishra, Paritosh Mahapatra, Nilamadhab Mishra, Somanath Lenka, Lopamudra Nayak, Deepak Parida, Debadatta Dash, Aurobindo Ghadai, and Suvendu Acharya.

Active cooperation and logistical support from institutions like AAONXT, Nobel Mortgages, Geeksoft Consulting, Prilk Consulting, Etia Consulting, and Innoveren IT were crucial to the event’s success.
